Tips for More Effective
Searching
Do not use commas: Our server does not recognize
commas. Don't use those when typing a Book's title. If a book has commas
in the title, simply omit them.
Don't use the whole title: Instead of typing in
the entire title (for example, "Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business"),
just type part of the title (for example, "Junie" or "Monkey
Business").
If a search does not return your book, try searching series:
Sometimes, we have part of what appears to be the title listed
as the series. For example, if searching "Animorphs: The Return"
under title doesn't return any results, try searching "Animorphs"
under series.
If a book has no author, try a series search: Many
books from collections (especially basal collections) do not have authors
listed in the database. Searching under series is often more effective.
(examples include "Storybox" and "Pair it Books")
Books of this nature generally fall at a lower reading level.
If your author search returns no results, try searching the
author's last name only: Sometimes authors use initials or
first name variations. As a general rule, it is easy to find a particular
author in the database by searching for only the last name.
If you find an error in the database, please let us know!
Everyone makes mistakes. There are probably a few errors -
typos, misspellings, incorrect titles - in the database. If you stumble
across one, let us know! Report Errors.
The database will become better the more it is used.
